Before the show even began, a fire broke out in a motorhome carrying valuable boxers, who were supposed to participate in the upcoming AKC All-Breed Dog Shows.

The fire quickly spread and engulfed the motorhome, leading to the heartbreaking death of five show dogs.

Thankfully, no people were harmed in the incident, and authorities believe that the fire was an accident.

People at the scene tried to rescue the dogs, but the smoke was too intense for them to enter the vehicle.

The dog show, which was scheduled to take place from June 14 to June 18, involved various breeds competing in different classes based on their breed and sex.

Different kennel clubs were hosting the show on specific days, including the Sarasota Kennel Club, Greater Venice Florida Dog Club, Heartland Dog Club of Florida, and the St. Petersburg Dog Fanciers Association.
